How To Write Articles: Get Your Articles Read And Your Bills Payed!

I've seen just about every imaginable mistake when it comes to writing articles for promotion.

It's a downright shame!

Most Internet business people realize that writing articles is an excellent technique for promoting their businesses, ezines, products, and services. Unfortunately, most haven't actually mastered the basics of how to write articles.

Once you master the basics of how to write articles you’ll begin to really reap the rewards that writing articles can provide. Your aim is to instantly be able to create articles that will engage readers, give you credibility, and
promote your business.

Your first, and possibly the single most important step is to decide what keyword (or keyword phrase) you want to write your article around. If you don’t choose the right keyword in
this very first step, then it will undermine everything else you do from here on out.

Why is Your Keyword Important? Well, targeted Readers use search engines to find information using keywords.Choosing your keyword will help ensure that you write an article that someone actually wants to read.

Now your going to have to provide the reader with some useful content. You have to provide high quality, useful content in your article or your targeted readers will simply hit their “back button” and find another source of information. You have to provide them with a solution to there problem. People go on line and search for answers to their problems and for information, not for products... So, all you have to do is give them what they want and relate it to your business.

It sounds easy enough, doesn’t it? The key here is not to give them an “in your face” sales pitch. Don't focus on the sale. Put yourself in the targeted reader’s uncomfortable chair in front of a dinky computer screen and think about things from their perspective.

Having warmed the reader up with the useful info, now is the time to strike with a profit pulling link, be that an affiliate link that relates to the article or a link to your own website. You Do this in the form of a resource box.

Your resource box goes right at the end of your article and provides some information about either you or your business. Ideally, it’s a mini-advertisement that makes the reader want to click through.

Something like:

[[ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Derek specializes in teaching real people just like you how to start profitable
Internet businesses that make $100,000 to $2.5 Million (or more) per year. Click here for more info www.yoursite.com]]

Remember this is where your money comes from, so make it good!

Now all you have to do is get your article read. This isn't brain surgery but it can be VERY, VERY tedious. Your first stop should be article directories. That’s where a lot of web masters go to find good quality content for their websites and it will give your article a wide viewing fairly quickly.

There are probably hundreds of article directories out there, and new ones are popping up daily.

There are really three ways that you can tackle this awesome task…

1. Search for article directories and submit your article to each of the article directories one at a time.

2. Use article submission software to automatically submit your articles.

3.Use an article submission service.

If theres one thing that can put me off writing an article its knowing that i had to then distribute it. Thats why i was over the moon when i discovered that there are sites that will distribute my article for me, for a small fee.

Therefore my choice is method number 3. Just type “article distribution service” into google and it will give all sorts of options. Doing it this way is not as expensive as you may think.

So. Just to re-cap on how to write articles:

Step 1: Decide on your keyword to write your article around.
Step 2: Provide useful, keyword rich content.
Step 3: Write a profit pulling resource box
Step 4: Distribute your article and get it read!

Well thats the basic recipe Of how to write articles! Hope it helped.

Regards,
Caiden Felix

Article Writing: Can It Help My E-book Sales?

Question: I wrote an e-book and I have a sales page selling it. Can I use article writing to promote my e-book?

Signed, Where are the Sales?

Dear Where are the Sales,
Absolutely. In fact, I highly recommend it.

It’s a perfect fit. Think about it. You’ve already got the content, and you obviously don’t mind writing since you’ve written an entire e-book. You’re a perfect candidate for using article sharing to get traffic to your website – and sell more e-books in the process.

If article sharing is new to you, you’ll catch on quickly. It’s an easy process, and it’s so effective. Here’s all there is to it.

1. You write an article about your topic of expertise. Or you use a section from your e-book and turn it into an article.

2. Add an author resource box at the end that includes the URL to your website – where you want the website visitors to go. Ideally this would be the sales page for your e-book. (See the bottom of this article for an example.)

3. Submit your article to article directories. These article directories contain thousands of free articles that publishers can freely use on their websites, blogs and in their newsletters.

4. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

Every time your article is published, your author bio will be included, giving you exposure for your website.

Now, if you have an affiliate program, there’s even more potential. If you’re smart, you’ll also send the articles to your affiliates and allow them to use the articles – and encourage them to replace your URL with their affiliate link for your program. A smart affiliate will grab those articles in a heartbeat and start publishing them all over the web.

I hope you’ll see the potential of article sharing, and embrace it. If not, you’re really missing out on an easy way to grow your business and generate large amounts of traffic to your website. I look forward to seeing your articles in the article directories.

Article Marketing And Search Engine Optimization

It has become increasingly difficult to get to the top of the major search engines in recent years as the likes of Google and Yahoo! have changed their criteria for how they rank websites. Many old techniques such as metatags and reciprocal links have lost their effectiveness. However, despite these changes, article submission remains one of the most effective ways to gain incoming links that will boost your website's popularity among the major search engines.

While there are many other aspects to search engine optimization (SEO), article submission can be a cheap and effective way to help you get that coveted spot on the first page of the search engine results for keywords relating to your business.

First let's look at how article marketing works in relation to improving SEO. Basically, every time a link to your website is published on another website your popularity with the search engines increases. These are known as backlinks. In every marketing article you submit to an article directory you can include a resource box with information about you or your product, and a backlink to your website.

So, even just by submitting to article directories you are already increasing the number of backlinks to your website. However, the real value from submitting these articles is that they can be picked up and published anywhere on the web. Every time an article is published you get another backlink to your website. If your articles are published enough times you could see your search engine page ranking rocket. Bear in mind though, that the effectiveness of your campaign will depend on where the articles appear. A backlink from a website that itself has a high search engine page ranking will carry more weight than a backlink from a site with a poor ranking.

Keywords vs quality

Carefully choosing keywords is an essential part of article marketing for a number of reasons. First, you want your articles to be easily found in article directories. If they remain buried under similar articles they will never be published on other websites and your efforts will have been wasted.

Also, you want your articles to get good results on the search engines themselves. If your articles find their way onto the front pages of the search engines you will increase exposure to your website or product, and increase your reputation as an article writer.

However, there is more to successful article marketing than keywords. There has been an ongoing difference of opinion among SEO experts as to whether the quality of articles can be sacrificed for the sake of high keyword density within the text. While it is important to put keywords in the text to help with SEO, quality content is king when it comes to article marketing.

The main aim of article marketing is to get your articles published on as many websites as possible. Quality content is at a premium on the internet so if you can provide good articles that people want to read you will be successful. If you stuff your articles with keywords websites will not publish them and readers will rarely read beyond the first paragraph. So, keep keywords to about two per every 100 words of text and do not let them disrupt the flow and the meaning of the article.

Know your neighbor

The most successful article marketers are the ones who gain a reputation as experts in their chosen field, so try to find your niche and work to your strengths. If you write authoratively and enthusiastically about a subject that you know about you are much more likely to attract readers.

If, for example, you have a website that sells Mac software you could write about new releases and trends in this field. However, you could also boost your profile by becoming involved in the general online Mac community by posting on forums or even creating your own blog. These can provide extra opportunities for creating backlinks and driving traffic to your website, and as you become better known in your field you will find your articles will be more used more often and more widely.

New Web 2.0 social bookmarking websites are also giving article marketers new opportunities for improving SEO and increasing traffic to their website. If you come up with an article you think could be very popular on the web you could publish it on your website and submit it to websites like Digg and Reddit. If it gains popularity on these sites it could go viral and bring thousands of hits to your site.

Article marketing offers excellent opportunities to promote your product while improving the SEO of your website. Even if you do not have the time or the will to write articles yourself, you should look into having a freelance writer doing the job for you.

Article Marketing - Not Sexy, But Successful

Article marketing has become one of the most common Internet marketing techniques in the past few years. It has grown exponentially due to the knowledge of its impact on search engine optimization (SEO) and its effectiveness for business and personality branding. But still, its impact is often underestimated or completely overlooked by would-be entrepreneurs.

Article marketing is a very effective method for building your home business and earning money on the Internet.  It has become a necessary tool for doing business on the web, and  is one of many tools you should have in your small business promotion toolbox.

Article marketing is the practice of submitting keyword-focused articles to article directories and sites that then syndicate your content. It helps to promote your business and establish you as an expert in your chosen niche. It also increases the link popularity of your website (by providing valuable one-way links from many sites back to your site), enhances search engine positioning for your chosen keywords and phrases, and it helps you reach more potential customers for your products or services.

The benefits of article marketing include its immense effectiveness as a means of promotion and its small or no cost for implementation. Article marketing is a simple means of allowing your small business to compete with much larger companies. It increases traffic to your website, provides targeted traffic to your website, and generates leads from which visitors may be converted into customers. A single article can be the source of dozens of leads, subscriptions, sales or referrals, which is the reason that article marketing is such an effective promotional tool.

As an important aspect of your overall business marketing plan, article marketing is a smart, inexpensive and simple way to greatly broaden the reach of your online business enterprise, and a powerful tool for your small business arsenal.

Article Marketing & Free Publicity For Your Website

An increasing number of website and business owners are turning toward a new approach to advertising and, best of all, it’s free. Article marketing, as it is technically known among webmasters, is achieved by translating expertise into a written article and effectively promoting it across the web. This can be achieved by the use of blogs, content directories and direct agreements with webmasters to publish your article in exchange for a link back to your website.

Article marketing is somewhat new in its technique, but is very effective if done properly. Free publicity is achieved as the article circulates more and more across the web. If you post your article to content directories, other webmasters may pick up your article and post it to their website with the only requirement being proper credit for the work. At the end of the article, the author’s name is shown, along with their business name and a direct link to their website. As the work circulates onto new sites, more customers will have the opportunity to read the article. If it is interesting and successfully grabs their attention, they will be likely to visit your site in search of more information.

The key to successful article marketing and free publicity for your website is to possess a certain amount of knowledge about your subject. Your expertise will show through in the work that you do and will entice others to want to read more. By sharing what you know with others, customers will respect you and appreciate your willingness to help. For instance, if you operate a home improvement website, perhaps you would write an article detailing some home improvement tips. Try to avoid the commonly known hints and direct your article toward lesser known tips. If you share the rare information that you know, and it works, customers will be so happy with the new tips that they have learned and your business will be given instant credentials in their mind.

The best part of article marketing is the fact that it is free and it generates free publicity for your website. Once you get a new website up and running, you will still have to find a way to spread the word about your new venture. By enlisting the article marketing technique, you will be saving a lot of money on advertising costs. Print publications and other conventional advertising methods can end up costing a bundle of cash and, since many new businesses struggle just to stay afloat in the beginning, it’s a good idea to save as much as you can.

A final thought about article marketing and free publicity for your website is to make sure that your articles are informative, thought provoking and rich in keywords relating to the topic of your website or service. The articles should reflect your website or service in some way and should always be relevant to the product that you are selling.

Article Marketing

Great new opportunity for website traffic increase.

If you are reading this article probably you already know about the web directories and their great importance in website promoting. Now, I was thinking to take a look together on the great new opportunity for traffic increase. The “articles directory” is a system related to “web directories”, also very easy to implement, but much, much powerful when it comes the part of promoting. Unlike the web directories where you add your website in the proper category and the post some information about it, in the article directory you have the opportunity to add an entire story about it.
So, what’s the trick??
There is no trick, is just a natural, clean and easy way to make your website visible on the internet and search engines. Think about the number of the tags and the rich content of this type of directory. There are thousands of tags and keywords in any category of interests. So, simple searches in a “search engine” will very probably return in the first results an “article directory” because of the rich content and the number of tags found here. So, the “article directory” will be preferred by the search engine robots and his rank will be higher than any other directory or simple website. If your website will be added here, be sure that his rank will rise a lot resulting in higher traffic …all because you are mentioned in a very important website. And this is ABSOLUTELY FREE. So, think again on this great opportunity to promote your website before spending a lot of money on banners or any other type of publicity.

Article Distribution: How Will Your Results Vary?

It’s not enough to just sit around and expect that your articles will bring you a good amount of traffic right after you submitted your articles for distribution.

Might as well think of some factors… Is your article worthy to be reprinted? Do the content and title ring a bell to most webmasters and publishers?

Questions like these are just some of the many factors that could greatly affect your article distribution results.

Some basic factors are:

1. Topic of your article…

Submitting your article to article sites and article announcement groups totally depends on the topic of your article, not all of these sites and groups accept general topic articles. Some groups (aprox. 30%) are niche or content-specific, meaning they only accept articles under specific topics, e.g. aainet group - accepts only internet related articles…

2. Your content

Submission sites are just tools, never think of them as an assurance that once your articles are distributed they are sure to bring you back big results. Article announcement groups and sites are just there to display your articles for readers (Who might be interested with your articles) and for publishers to pick your articles and reprint them in their site or ezine. Thus, getting greater results totally depends on your article, how interesting it is to readers and how it gets the publisher’s attention/interest to make them publish it.

My advice, do not just write an article for the sake of distributing it and hoping to get traffic out of it. Write an article that will surely give you results after using the article distribution services and sites as tools for distribution.

Article Database - When A Good Thing Is Copied

Article Database is the name of my article directory and I think the name I have chosen for it says it all.

I may be wrong in feeling the need to write this article. It is possible the names similar to that of my website were developed first or completely without having seen mine; however, I am correct I believe that I have good reason to write this article.

Have you ever seen how people copycat the success of others? This is a very common practice on the Internet. A case in point may be my article directory Article Database.

I started my article directory Article Database at http://www.article-database.com in mid to late January of 2006 and by late March received a Google PR rank of 3 for www.article-database.com and PR4 for www.article-database.com/news/. I have since done searches and I can easily find my site when searching Google for article-database. However, to find Article Database seems to be a bit more difficult.

It appears to me that when people want to increase their SEO they go looking for website names that have already received a PR from Google and then try to capitalize on that websites success. I am not positive about this but I do believe that articledatabase.org came after article-database.com as it is also copyrighted with 2006. They may have more articles than I do.  Did they actually get these solicited and published to the site directly by the authors? I am not saying that they didn't but they may have added the articles themselves. That could explain why as of June 14, 2006 they do not show a Google PR of their own.

Such is also the case with articles-database.com. I am not sure when they launched and maybe they were before me but I am wondering why they have no Google PR? The only difference in the URL of their site and mine is that they used the word articles rather than article.

I attribute my PR ranking to many things. The first of these is that I ran a publicity release using a popular publicity release software. Secondly I found some authors and contacted them and started receiving authors contributing directly to my site. After this there were several articles on the site, so I submitted the rss feeds of the categories with the most articles to some of the most popular rss feeds such as MyYahoo, Newsgator, Google, and many others. I then created a WordPress blog about writing and article marketing, and submitted it to several blog directories and rss feed directories. Then I started making posts to the blog on a semi-regular basis. The authors who contribute to Article Database are also notified when new articles are posted. In addition I use the same software to send a newsletter to everyone who has signed up as an author or user of my system.  I also posted an article to several article directories that I titled Article Directories - Ten Great Reasons To Submit Articles To Them.

Am I complaining about other article directories having the same name as mine? I don't believe that I am complaining; rather I am just pointing out the strange fact that when someone sees something working that they often try to copy it, and that is more than true on the Internet. Often a website name or URL is made to be similar in order to get some type of search engine advantage or the benefits of potential misspellings of the original website.

I believe that in my own way, I am saying that if these and other websites saw the Google PR of my blog and decided to name their article directory after mine, I take it as the sincerest form of flattery. I am sure that some one in cyberland will grab up other domains based around the terms article database. I am glad that I am one of the first.
